Seventh Toronto Arthouse Film Festival Award Winners Unveiled
Last week, the Toronto Arthouse Film Festival was back for its 2022 edition, consisting of 4 screening evenings. With an eclectic selection of 31 films by local and international talent, ranging from narrative films and documentaries to experimental gems and music videos, the festival proved to be a hit, welcoming many indie film enthusiasts. Festival host and manager Maarten Cornelis could not be more pleased: “The 2022 Toronto Arthouse Film Festival was a great success! We were back at the FOX Theater for the 7th year in a row and had the biggest turnout since the festival was founded. This year's official selection, 31 movies picked out of the 2,500 movies sent to us, were received very enthusiastically by our audience. The movies took the audience from a mountain village in Iran, all the way to the “American Idol” stage. Thanks to our amazing sponsors, we were able to offer all events for free. In addition, we are so happy to announce that we will be back at the same location in 2023 and will be able to offer all events with free admission again. I am very excited for next year since I see TAFF growing and expect it to be an even bigger success. See you all in 2023!”
